Fall Film Series

Fridays, September 9, 16 & 23, 7pm

Three from Tim Burton
Beetlejuice · The Nightmare Before Christmas · Mars Attacks!

Beetlejuice (1988), Friday, September 9 – After Barbara and Adam Maitland die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes and teen daughter Lydia buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice, a rambunctious spirit whose “help” quickly becomes dangerous.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Friday, September 16 – Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, has become bored with the same annual routine of frightening people in the “real world.” When Jack stumbles on Christmastown he gets a new lease on life – plotting to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus. But Jack soon discovers even the best-laid plans of mice and skeleton men can go seriously awry.

Mars Attacks! (1996), Friday, September 23 – A fleet of Martian spacecraft surrounds the world’s major cities and all of humanity waits to see if the extraterrestrial visitors have “come in peace.” The U. S. President is assured that the Martians are friendly, but when a peaceful exchange ends in the total annihilation of Congress, military men call for a full-scale retaliation.
